Editorial policy

Select News Insights aims to explain news literacy with care and clarity. We distinguish what is established from what is interpreted, and make corrections when our wording or facts fall short.

Accuracy and clarity

We check factual statements against appropriate available material and keep claims within what that material supports. We explain relevant terms, dates and limits in context. When information is incomplete or changing, we say so rather than presenting an early account as final.

Independence

Editorial choices are made for reader value and fit with our subject. A contribution, collaboration or placement does not determine our editorial conclusions. We do not imply endorsement of an outside product, service or viewpoint simply because it appears alongside our work.

Corrections and updates

If you spot an error, use the Contact page and identify the relevant passage and concern. We review correction requests, amend material when warranted and make the nature of a meaningful correction clear to readers. Developing stories may be updated when important details change.

Partnerships and illustrations

Paid, partner or otherwise supported material is clearly identified as such, so readers can distinguish it from independent editorial work. Some illustrations are AI-generated; when used, they are identified, and are not presented as documentary evidence.
